International Conference on Individual Monitoring of Ionising Radiation

19-24 April 2020 (Budapest, Hungary)

IM2020 Conference in the light of COVID-19 outbreak

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, the IM2020 Steering Committee has been reviewing the situation. As we have already announced, the IM2020 Conference could not be held in its originally planned, conventional form due to the coronavirus pandemic and consequent extraordinary measures which have been announced including a ban on public events in Hungary.
We have worked very hard to find the most adequate solution with evaluating variant potential options. Taking into consideration all the possible aspects, including the uncertainty factors under this rapidly changing and evolving circumstances, we had to make the hard decision to cancel the IM2020 Conference.

The IM2020 Steering Committee express its regret to make this announcement, as the organising team was really looking forward to hosting this prestigious event. We sincerely apologise for any inconveniences caused by the cancellation, but since we believe that in times of such unprecedented uncertainty this was the right decision and necessary measure, we kindly ask for your understanding.
First and foremost, we would like to thank the contribution of all the participants and all the cooperation over the past two years, in particular during the last weeks. These at least partly compensate us for the cancelled event, our wasted efforts and un-refundable expenditures.
We greatly appreciate the continuous support which we received from EURADOS during this two year. We are also very grateful for all the hard work of the Scientific and Local Organizing Committees and for the commitment of the Keynote speakers and Refresher Course lecturers. At last but not least, we would like to express our gratitude towards to the sponsor and exhibitor organisations.

Our aim is to avoid potential financial damages to the participants as well as to the supporting organisations, therefore after prolonged negotiations we have succeeded in agreeing to refund the whole amount of paid fees. About the circumstances of refund, the concerned parties have been already notified via email.

The EURADOS Council will do its best to make sure that in 2021 or at latest in 2022 a new Conference on Individual Monitoring will be organised. Further communication will be distributed through the EURADOS Newsletter.

Please take care of yourselves and your families in this challenging time.
Best regards,
Conference Chair

On behalf of the
IM2020 Steering Committee
